Elegant pair of slipper chairs with caned backs from the Sophisticate line for Tomlinson in the mid 1950's. Extremely low profile, these feature tapered legs which flair out in the back, as well as sculptural, bentwood back supports. These are in excellent vintage condition! The cushions were just reupholstered and new foam added. The new foam sits firm and will need to be broken in like any new furniture would. The wood frames and cushion support are in near perfect condition with very few marks typical of age. The only imperfections include a small chip on the bottom of one leg, and 1 snip in one of the cane runs which you can only see from the back - see pic. These are absolutely beautiful and rare chairs! They typically retail between $3000-4500 when you can find them. We have several more pics - just ask!
