Pair of low profile lounge chairs designed by Giuseppe Raimondo for Gufram in Northern Italy in the early 1970's. The original design was by Tobia Scarpa for Knoll known as the Bastiano line in the late 60's, however when Knoll bought out Gavina there were still a number of orders open with Stendig for the Bastiano seating models. Since Knoll was the sole importer for the Bastiano series, Stendig had to make the switch over to Giuseppe Raimondo to fill the remaining orders. They were only available in Rosewood, Teak and Oak. This pair of chairs (as well as the matching sofa we have) are the oak ones that someone has added a distressed black stain to. The original rubber loop coils have been replaced by strapping for the seat support but can easily be put back. The cushions are brand new and covered in a soft midnight blue fabric. These chairs are wide, low and extremely comfortable. We also have the matching sofa in another listing, if you purchase all 3 pieces the bundled price is $1400.
