Beautiful and rare Dining table and chairs attributed to George Nelson by American of Martinsville in the early 1960s. The table is walnut and features solid wood construction, tapered legs, gorgeous wood grain, inlaid walnut strips on each end, and brushed aluminum inlaid "x" design on the corners. Three of the chairs are Danish style cane back and are the original to the set. We are not sure if the captains chair is original to the set or not. It has more rounded lines but has the same shape back and same seat height. (It could very well be original as most captains chairs are usually different in some way , but we wanted to note the difference).
The set is in great condition, it has a few marks typical of age and use. One of the chairs has a small strand of cane missing - see pic. It does not come with any leaves. This is a beautiful and rare Mid Century set!
