Gorgeous and rare light-up bar on platform base designed by Merton Gershun in the late 1950's/early 1960's for American of Martinsville "Dania" Line. The base is extremely low profile and consists of 3 drawers with a solid brass band wrapped across the front connecting the tapered legs. The top piece has a pull down bar which lights up when opened and goes off automatically when closed. The bar has 2 mirrors in the back as well as a smokey blue/gray glass in the middle which contains the light. The top also has 2 doors - the left side contains a white front drawer inside, the left is an open cubby area which can be locked. The white on the drawer as well as the white indented circles in the bar and door are original to the design. This is a heavy, well constructed, solid wood piece with walnut finish. It has been thru our 5 step restoration process without sanding/staining to preserve the original finish. The top piece is in excellent condition with only very minor marks consistent with age. The bar area is flawless and lamp wiring and function operate as seamlessly as intended. This is a beautiful and hard to find Mid Century piece in all original condition!
